“Yachtsman Steakhouse”Dining Review at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort!

We selected Yachtsman Steakhouse for our 21st Wedding Anniversary dinner. It’s located within Disney’s Boardwalk Area at Walt Disney World’s Yacht Club Resort.

With all the hype that surrounded this “sumptuous” chophouse our expectations were off the fo hizzle and since Ryan and I were celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary we expected mo shizzle.

DRESS CODE

Don’t dress like you just popped out of the cornfield on Heehaw! Flip Flops and Cut-Off Shorts won’t fly here.

Minimum Dress Code RequirementsNO Swimsuits, Swimsuit Coverups, Flip Flops, Tank Tops, No Hats for gentlemen, Torn Clothing or T-Shirts with offensive language or graphics. This should be self explanatory, but unfortunately it’s not.

FIRST IMPRESSION

Disappointed! Right off the bat we had a twenty-five minute wait, but on the bright side, the hostess hailed from our hometown and the oxygen on the rocks from Ale & Compass Lounge helped pass the time.

The dining room consisted of multiple vignettes, yet the table arrangements were a little too close for comfort. The lighting was dim and the ambiance was New England nautical.  The illustrious Stormalong Bay Pool was our view at a cozy table for two. Now for my favorite experience- Chow Time!

FOOD

Bread basket with Sea Salt Butter and Roasted Garlic Glove. Yum, um, um!👌

Appetizer – Quick Fried Shrimp and Calamari

My choice~ 8oz Black Angus Filet Mignon with Mashed Potatoes and Cabernet Wine Sauce. Very tasty!

My hubby’s choice~ 12oz Prime New York Strip Steak with Potato Gratin and Peppercorn-Brandy Sauce. He enjoyed!

OVERALL IMPRESSION

I’ll start with the negatives and end with the positives. The original wait was a little irritating, but somewhat expected from a signature dining restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort. Our waiter seemed like he was going through the motions and it was unauthentic and lackluster, I was highly disappointed by him. The tables were entirely too close together, I felt like I had to whisper as not to impose my convo. onto my neighbor. It was extremely loud in the restaurant considering I was whispering. The food was very good, but not mind blowing! I prefer Canada’s Le Cellier Steakhouse over Yachtsman any day of the week. I did however adore the complementary glass of champagne and dessert in honor of our anniversary! The personalized menu wasn’t too shabby either!

All in all, I had a tasty meal with my Prince Charming in a magical setting for our special occasion and that’s really all that mattered.

Will I return to the Yachtsman Steakhouse? Nah, I’m gucci!!
