The stars alined at the redesigned “Planet Hollywood” Observatory at Disney Springs! At first glance, it was similar in appearance, minus the large white stars and staircase on the cylindrical outer building, upon closer inspection, it shined in comparison to its former self!
“My palate and tummy had the good fortune of tasting the deliciousness that “Planet Hollywood” Observatory had to offer. First things first, the appetizers; our table enjoyed two large High Roller Platters which consisted of five appetizers: Famous Chicken Crunch, Texas Tostados, Buffalo Wings, Five Cheese Dip and Fried Jumbo Shrimp. Absent were the boring appetizer caddy’s of yesteryear, in, with the Ferris Wheel of yumminess, after all this is Hollywood, we’re all stars here or at least treated like one. Everything tasted amazing, but if I was forced to name a favorite, it would have to be the Fried Jumbo Shrimp accompanied by spicy Sriracha sauce.
Next, the entree and boy what an entree it was. The Bacon Mac & Cheese is an award winning burger by non-other than Guy Fieri. I selected it because it contained the basic food groups, nah, not really, it contained my favorites: Beef, Bacon, Mac & Cheese, Cheddar, Crispy Onion Straws and Donkey sauce on a brioche bun, Woot! My friends enjoyed everything from the BBQ Ribs served with french fries, L.A. Lasagna & the Pimento Grilled Cheese stacked between three slices of sourdough bread. They all looked divine and I heard lots of oohs and aahs, but I still think I came out the winner. Just look at it in all its magnificent glory.
At last, we are coming to a close, but not without mentioning the desserts. Aah, the confectionary delights of “Planet Hollywood” Observatory are endless, don’t worry this review is not, so I’ll just name the best of the best in no specific order. #1 Cosmic Cotton Candy Milkshake~ made with hand-dipped cotton candy ice cream, rainbow sprinkles, white chocolate covered pretzels & topped off with cotton candy & a lollipop. #2 Brownie Sundae Martini~ twelve decadent chunks of freshly baked brownies layered with six scoops of vanilla & chocolate ice cream sauces then buried in mounds of whipped cream & a cherry. #3 Planet Melt Down~ this chocolate sphere is melted tableside by hot chocolate sauce to reveal double chocolate fudge cake, fresh strawberries & whipped cream inside.
Now that we’re in a food coma, I think it’s only fitting to part ways. “Planet Hollywood” Observatory at Disney Springs redesign was long awaited and much anticipated. I’m excited to return with my family, so they can experience the state-of-the-art multimedia, Hollywood memorabilia, fantastical food and live entertainment.
I was provided free and/or discounted items, resort stays and meals as part of the Glamping Blogger Retreat 2017. All opinions are my own.
