Disney’s Wilderness Lodge “Roaring Forks” 2017 Refurb. Review

Location~ Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort

Date~ July 2017

Posse~ My family which included; Myself, Hubby, Peyton & Logan

Story~ Come along with my gang as we explore the recent refurbishments to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Roaring Forks quick service restaurant.

Impression~ Aesthetically very outdoorsy and pleasing to the eye, fits in well with the Wilderness Lodge theme. The color palette is dark Brown and Hunter Green, it’s used strategically throughout the cozy interior. Friendly Cast Members armed to help indecisive peeps and also an impromptu dance with me, woot! We loved the variety of choices in the on-the-go refrigerators and spacious covered outdoor seating area, it’s beats the umbrella tables any day! The price was comparable to other Disney quick service restaurants, but the taste (besides the Gourmet Grilled Cheese (below) surpassed all others.

Food~ All of our meals came with Potato Barrels (tater tots) and they were pretty tasty. They actually tasted like potatoes were inside, unlike the usual fried tailings.

My hubby’s new favorite quick service sandwich at Walt Disney World Resort is the Brisket Burger ( Brisket, Burger, Tillamook Cheddar Cheese, Cranberry Barbecue Sauce, Cast Iron Onions, Apple Frisée on a Brioche Bun.) He loved it so much he mentioned returning the following day.

My daughter ordered the Gourmet Grilled Cheese (White Cheddar, Arugula, Tomato, and Onion Jam on Multi-Grain Bun) which she found disgusting, it prompted me to try and I agreed, not so good! Take out the Onion Jam, it’s overpowering.

My son had the 10-Hour Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich (Pulled Pork, Chipotle-Apple Barbecue Sauce, Creamy Slaw on a Brioche Bun) and he found to be delish.

I also ordered the Brisket Burger, which I found rather large and difficult to attack. I cut it in half and navigated it that way! It was very good, but honestly it was a lot of food. I decided to split it with my daughter since she refused to eat her Gourmet GROSS Cheese, I didn’t blame her!

For Lunch and Dinner they also serve: Flatbreads, Grilled Chicken Sandwiches, Desserts, Drinks.

Breakfast includes: Mickey Waffles, 10 hour Pulled Pork Cheese Grits, Breakfast Flatbread, Chocolate-Hazelnut French Toast, Corned Beef Hash and Roaring Breakfast Platter.

Enlarge inside seating area,  expand the menu items, brighter lighting, lighter wood palette, change the ordering area.

We enjoyed the experience at Roaring Forks Restaurant at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. We liked the refurb. changes and the expansion more than before. The food has improved, but we’d like to see more menu choices added. Wilderness Lodge is special to us because it was my family’s first deluxe experience at Walt Disney World Resort. We always make a point to visit and keep an eye on its ever evolving blueprint! Happy eating folks!
