Mardi~Gras Maleficent
It started with a magical email from the Disney Parks team and MomSelect. Hooray, hooray its party planning day, since I have teens, I was selected to host a Disney Villains theme, perfect for my family being that we enjoyed “Maleficent” this past July on the Disney Fantasy. Since we are from Louisiana, I decided a little twist was appropriate and intertwined Disney’s theme with Louisiana flavor; therefore making it a Disney Side Mardi~Gras Maleficent @Home Celebration. I gleefully awaited my party planning box and when it arrived I almost burst into pixie dust. I happy danced around the house leaving my family and pets perplexed, woot!
I set the date for February 28, 2015 at 6PM and mailed out the Disney Side Villains invites from my Disney Side @Home Celebration party box. Now on to my favorite part, decorating. I kept the colors villainous; purple, black and green and I also added a few extra decorations of my own for the twist I previously mentioned.
Decorations
Another fabulous part of the planning, the delicious menu. I came up with Mardi~Gras style delights such as; Jambalaya, Jalapeno Cornbread and King Cake Cupcakes mixed with some villainous treats like poisoned apples dipped in chocolate. I made a sinister punch filled with scary fruit and it tasted fantastical, as did the Twinings Tea. I also served up a perfectly color-schemed candy station with gift bags that included Disney Luggage Tags and HP CMYK Packs for my guests.
Food
Now on to the ultimate fun of the night, the Disney Side @Home Celebration games. The first activity everyone enjoyed was the My Image Bracelet Maker. It was great for showing our Disney Side all evening long. Next we played “Pin a smile on Mickey” and surprisingly it was the biggest hit of the night. It dumbfounded me, because these were teenagers I was dealing with and they thoroughly enjoyed this game and the prize a Taco Bell gift card. Last but not least we played Disney Trivia and I was thrilled with the Disney knowledge from all our guests, I can clearly see why we’re all friends.
Entertainment
All in all we devoured delicious treats, played the Disney word search and had lots of laughs throughout the night. A big thank you and shout out to Leanne Jakubowski, Jamie Langdon and the entire Disney Parks team in partnership with MomSelect for making my Disney Side @Home Celebration memorable.
